Alvin Tseng graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science with a Specialization in Athletic Therapy. He has since then been certified as an Athletic Therapist and a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, as well as obtained certification in First Responding, Soft Tissue Therapy, and Active Release Technique. He is currently undergoing training for the Functional Movement Screens Technique.
Alvin enjoys the diversity of working both on field and in the clinic. On the field, he has worked with many junior, collegiate and provincial sports teams in many different sports, such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, rugby, and lacrosse. He is currently the head athletic trainer for the Douglas College varsity teams. He is also one of the therapists for the youth programs of BC Soccer and BC Rugby.
In the clinic, Alvin has rehabbed a wide range of people, from elderly stroke patients to elite college athletes. He loves to incorporate manual techniques, exercises and modalities into his rehab protocol. However, he believes that proper biomechanics, patient education and home program are the keys to getting back to health as soon as possible. Moreover, he is able to train his patients to improve their fitness to further prevent future injuries.
Alvin loves the fact that he is able to combine his passion for sports with his love of helping others. He likes to lead by example by living an active and healthy lifestyle. He enjoys golfing, swimming, among other sports. He also loves volunteering at his home church as a youth leader.
